BLACK BEAUTY

Deep in the dark crevices of a river bank in winter you might find some of Nature's hidden treasure. That treasure could very well look like the work of  Modern Art. And yet, the artist is as old as time. This black beauty was found along a river in Montana.

ICE BLOOMS AT MIDNIGHT

Ice blooms cling to stalks of dried grass set off against a velvety, star-filled sky. No, wait. Those aren't stars they are snowflakes. A winter landscape in the macro. What I like to call worlds within worlds. ©Kinsey Barnard

COIN OF THE REALM

There is incredible beauty in the simplest of natural things. The photo below is of a lichen growing on a boulder in a Montana forest. Most people wouldn't even notice this beautiful, living creature clinging to a boulder. Most people miss out on so much.

SYMPHONY IN BLUE & GREEN

So often in nature, as in life it's self, it is in the simplest things that we find the greatest beauty. What could be more common than a lily pad? Yet, caught in a moment just so, floating on the cobalt blue surface of a mountain lake the pads become extraordinary. They become the orchestra and the cattail becomes the conductor of a symphony in blue and green. Life would be so boring without an imagination. Imagination and photography make beautiful bed fellows.

CUT BANK TREASURE

Montana bill's itself as the treasure state. Believe me, it's not just a slogan. There are natural treasures  just about everywhere you look. This photograph is of the sparkling waters of Cut Bank Creek near Glacier National Park on the Blackfeet Reservation. Beneath those crystal clear waters you can see pebbles sparkling like gem stones. Truly treasure for the eye.

A RAGE OF WAVES

There is nothing more dramatic than the coast after a storm, when the huge waves come rolling and crashing onto shore. Winter on the Oregon Coast is something to behold!

POSTCARD FROM THE EDGE

I love photographing water. The reflections you can find are beyond amazing. It's a little harder to find in the Arizona desert than here in Montana but I am equal to the task. I am a seeker. I called this POSTCARD FROM THE EDGE because it looked like a postcard to me. I was on my way into the bar at Tortilla Flats when I found it. After the drive in there I needed a drink!

LAY ME DOWN

An ethereal, white bark birch trunk wavers in the cool dark waters of a lake. This photograph was taken as a vertical landscape. I took the liberty of turning it on it's side. Nature is an incredible abstract artist. We human are merely posers. We really should get over ourselves.

CALIFORNIA COLLAGE

This is a cutting edge photograph of a California landscape. Great example of abstract art photography. This is all original, natural art. No manipulation. No Photoshop. I don't eve own the program. The thing is, Nature is always showing us incredible works of art, ours for the taking. But, not everyone sees them. I do see unique natural works of art and it is my never ending pleasure to capture them.

PUDDLE PUPPY

One day, out in the Arizona desert, I found a puddle and in it a puppy. I don't know if you will be able to see it but he's as clear as a bell to me. You'll definitely need to engage your imagination. Water is such an incredible versatile medium.

This is an original giclee on canvas. Also available is a limited edition giclee on fine art paper.

IMPRESSIONIST MAGIC

Nowhere does Nature display her artistic talent more beautifully than in reflections. This original art piece is natural, not created impressionism. Well, yes created, by Nature herself.  As the photographer all I do is record her creations. Nature is the artist.

This landscape reflection is of birch trees shimmering on the riffled waters of Eel Lake in Oregon.

The original, one of a kind giclee canvas print is available. Contact Kinsey Barnard for more details. Signed, limited edition, fine art paper prints are available by clicking the buy button on the image.

PSYCHOTROPIC TROUT

This extraordinary photograph of rainbow trout swimming lazily along was taken on a Montana river. The intense green color was achieved through the use of a green filter equivalent. This image is a testament to to clear, clean water we still have in here in Montana. Montana is known as "The Treasure State" and our water may be one of the most treasured treasures.
